MIAMINov. 30, 2017 /FLORIDANOW/ — In Miami the motto seems to remain “go big or go home”. Developer Alex Mantecon seems to be embracing that adage well, by launching the two [newest] and most popular event venues in the city. Just in time for the holiday season, some of the 305’s most influential movers and shakers got the opportunity to enjoy themselves at the Penthouse at Riverside Wharf. Referred to as simply the “Penthouse”, this incredible venue is Miami’s only indoor rooftop space with 360-degree views and expansive outdoor balcony, overlooking the Miami River.

Alex Mantecon designed the 11,000-square-foot space with a few key points in mind. One, was to create a space with indoor and outdoor capacity for over 400 people, as in Miami, social and special events tend to range in attendance of a few hundred guests. Situated with a deep-water marina for yacht access and a wrap-around 360-degree visual perspective of Miami, the Penthouse at Riverside Wharf is a venue designed to change the event scene in South Florida. Manteca and his team created a venue that celebrates one of Miami’s most beloved attributes, the sparking skyline. The lavish blank-canvas-type setting has rapidly become known as #ASpaceAboveOthers (and rightfully so).

With the city emitting the energy locals and those in the know call “season”, right after Labor Day, the Penthouse, officially launched and with a great big bang. The venue opened its doors to a myriad of sought-after functions courtesy of ownership, venue Director Melissa Montez and an array of top tier event professionals to include: Jackie Ohh Events, Cymbidium Events, Unearthed Vintage, Chef Brian Aaron, Mena Catering, Bill Hansen Luxury Catering, Gilded Group Décor, One Inspired Party, Earth and Sugar, Illumene, Monica Pardo Events, Ever After Florist, Chef David CuisineRodri StudiosManolo Doreste Photography, Alan Phillip Photography, Thierry Isambert, EMG, Creative Edge Events, Grateful Palate Catering, and Divine Delicacies.

For the its official entrance into the South Florida event scene, the venue welcomed the Save Dadeannual gala, which was hosted by NBC’s Roxy Vargas. Those in attendance included some of the most high-profile LGBT supporters in the city, presented by Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. To follow up after the charitable festivities, venue owner Alex Mantecon welcomed an esteemed group of alumni from Belen High School and entertained them with none other than the highly acclaimed band Suénalo. The 9-piece Latin funk band from Miami are going strong on their 13th year. Named by the Miami New Times as one of Miami’s “Best Latin Rock Bands of All Time,” they have won several notable awards and shared the stage with the likes of PitbullSpyro Gyra and Inner Circle to name a few.

Every new business hopes to have the support of local notables. It makes it that much better, when the association is formed by collaborating to give back to the community both parties share. Recently, the Penthouse hosted a one-of-a-kind launch preview event for Project Destined started by businessman Cedric Bobo. The innovative real estate-based youth education program promotes financial literacy, leadership development, and access to mentorship. The Project Destined team was proud to launch said preview in Miami with none other than Alex “Arod” Rodriguez and Jennifer “JLo” Lopez.

The weekend workshop was hosted in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miamian organization Rodriguez has been actively supporting for several years. Rodriguez announced via social media his support and involvement nationally with the program. Lopez surprised the attending children with a surprise visit where she shared some insight and personal inspirational experiences.

To celebrate the season, the Penthouse invited over three hundred guests to enjoy the space at the first annual “Holiday Showcase Event” that included curated bites and libations, music and a fashion show by Dora Sasu and Shark Tank featured The Lapel Project by Sartori Amici.

Event goers can mark their calendars as the Penthouse will host a potpourri of special events to close out the year including the first annual Art Basel “Emergence” event presented by Penthouse Riverside Wharf and Miami Magazine. Each year, the venue will showcase carefully chosen talent from all over the country. The effort was conceptualized to enrich our local community and art lovers wanting to be exposed to talent on the fringe of massive awareness and notoriety. “ACID NYC The Penthouse Edition” will take place at the Penthouse on Friday, December 8, 2017 from7:00PM-11:00PM.

There are spaces and then there are penthouses. This one, Penthouse Riverside Wharf has truly redefined the concept of “new heights”. Stay tuned….
